Kansas Historical Society - Kansas Day 2013

In connection with the Kansas Museum of History's special exhibit, Hail to the Chief, the theme for Kansas Day 2013 is presidents. Bill Nicks will portray President Dwight D. Eisenhower.  Dennis Rogers will present a program connected with Vice President Charles Curtis. 

In the lobby will be a variety of activities including the Lincoln hat book, a comparison of voting rights in 1861 versus those today, a gallery search, and making a Kansas flag.  A number of organizations will join us including Kansas Kids Vote, the Ritchie House with programs about President Abraham Lincoln, and Brown v. Board of Education National Historic Site will provide a program on campaign buttons and let visitors make their own.  In conjunction with the Eisenhower Center, youth performers will present skits about Ike's childhood in Abilene.
