Pawnee Indian Museum - Frontier Forts of Kansas
The presence of military forts in what is now Kansas changed the West forever. The forts provided protection for settlers, traders, and the railroads. The forts also brought about the removal of the Plains Indians. This presentation will focus on Kansas military forts, large and small, and their interactions with the Indians.
