Cars: The Need for Speed
Through Nov. 28, 2010

Kansas' fascination with car culture has a long history. A number of early cars were manufactured in the state, Walter Chrysler was born here, and the National Hot Rod Association held its first national championship in the state. President Dwight Eisenhower, a Kansas native, championed the interstate highway system, and we claim the first completed stretch of interstate in the nation. Bridesmaid Dress
Through March 2010Zimmerman wedding

As this year's brides plan their weddings, they might take note of an economical option--homemade gowns. Kansan Roya Zimmerman made the dresses for the bridesmaids, the flower girl, and herself to wear to the wedding of her daughter Cheri Zimmerman in LaCrosse, Kansas, on May 3, 1975. Roya purchased the fabric at a store in Hutchinson, and completed the look with hand-dyed lace trim and hats purchased from J.C. Penney. The latest What's New case features a bridesmaid's gown and matching hat.
