KITES
Kansas Interpretive Traveling Exhibit Service
Kansas barns have grown out of the state's landscape, culture, and
climate. As Kansans learned how to farm and ranch here, they adapted
their barns. Barns housed animals, grain, equipment, and feed. They
were also used for activities such as church services, dances, and spare
bedrooms. Today barns symbolize rural life and are a point of pride
for many Kansans.
