What's New at the Kansas Museum of History |
| Through the end of September - Dryden Pottery
The What's New Exhibit currently features a collection of Dryden pottery from the Dryden plant in Ellsworth. The plant operated from 1946 to 1956, then moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas. Clay and volcanic ash from the Ellsworth area were used to create the pottery, which was shipped across the country. The pieces are still sought by collectors.
The Kansas Historical Society recently received a collection of over 50 pieces of Dryden pottery from G.L. Dybwad and Joy V. Bliss. In addition to seeing some of their pieces in the "What's New" exhibit, you can purchase copies of their book, Dryden Pottery, from the Museum Store.
