You're right! The correct spelling of Nation's first name is
both "Carry" and "Carrie."

Nation's father spelled it "Carry" in the family Bible,
but for most of Mrs. Nation's first 55 years,
she spelled it "Carrie."

She returned to "Carry" to get the full publicity value of her name, as in the phrase "Carry A. Nation."
