Kansas State Capitol - Exhibits
Please note that during the current rehabilitation of the Kansas State Capitol, many features, such as the John Steuart Curry murals, must be protected and may not be visible during your visit.
There's a lot to discover about the Capitol before you even step foot inside the building. Placed throughout the grounds are statues and memorials in tribute to pioneer women, Kansas veterans, Abraham Lincoln, Kansas law enforcement, and the Statue of Liberty. Be sure to catch a glimpse of the Ad Astra statue atop the capitol dome.
Begin your tour at the Capitol Tour Center. Or take a self-guided tour of the State Library, cage elevator, Liberty Bell replica, and Overmeyer murals.
On this level, discover the Curry and Winter murals, Governor's Office, rotunda statues, and stained glass windows.
Explore the old Kansas Supreme Court room, House of Representatives Hall and Senate Chamber, post office, and stop for refreshment at Don's Snack counter.
On the fourth floor, you'll find the page office and east and west wing galleries.
Legislative Services offices can be found on the this level.
