When the Johnnies came marching home, the veterans played a role in building the state of Kansas.  Since Bleeding Kansas, Kansans have been involved in all American conflicts.  The records of a soldier's service help genealogists learn about their ancestors, while the artifacts illustrate their service.  All show the effects of soldiers returning home and leaving an impact on their communities.
