All aboard for a trip that tells the story of Kansas’s settlement! The story of Kansas cannot be told without the story of the railroads. They encouraged immigration and town building through the selling of land along the right away. This encouraged agricultural growth, which in turn established markets for the railroads and built communities. Freight traffic by train was and is heavy because of the central location of the state in the nation, and resulted in several Kansas cities as railroad centers.
