Tours - State Archives
Group visits to the State Archives are scheduled separately from Kansas Museum of History visits. There is no charge for using the research facility, but please contact the reference staff in advance if you are planning to bring a group to do research so we can make any special arrangements that are needed. Research visits will only be scheduled during the times that we are open to the public. We would like to know the size of the group, when you will be arriving and the topic of your research. We try to avoid scheduling visits from two groups at the same time so that we can provide the best service possible.
If this is your group's first visit, you might want to arrange for our staff to give a brief orientation when the group arrives about our procedures and the resources that we have available. Reference staff can work with a group to focus the orientation on their particular topic, such as History Day or family history projects. Staff can also give an orientation to the online resources we have available, including Kansas Memory.
To schedule a tour, please email the library staff or call our reference desk at 785-272-8681, ext. 117.
