State Archives

THE STATE ARCHIVES IS CLOSED TODAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2018, DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER.

The State Archives, located at the Kansas Historical Society headquarters in west Topeka, has a professionally staffed research room where the public can use historic government records, Kansas newspapers and other resources for Kansas history and genealogy research.

Hours open to the public for research

  • March - October: 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Tuesday - Saturday
  • November - February: 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Wednesday - Saturday
  • Closed state holidays
  • No admission fee
  • ADA accessible with ADA accessible parking in rear, wheelchairs available
