  • Worked as stagecoach driver, railroad section hand, buffalo hunter, gambler, and city constable
  • Became marshal in Wichita in 1875, lost his job after being arrested for fighting
  • Served as deputy marshal in Dodge City
  • Survived famous gun battle at the OK Corral in Tombstone, Arizona
