Place opened in 1986 thanks to the efforts of the Junior League
of Topeka. The gallery is filled with activities made to touch
that teach and inspire an interest in Kansas history.

Place is designed for families with children through age nine.
Adult supervision is required.

can explore the history of the Plains Indians and crawl into a
tipi.

can visit a county fair and play carnival games.
|

Putting on a puppet show is fun and easy with the stage and Kansas
Kritters puppets.

can ride the colorful carousel horse.

Kramer Farm, young visitors can use their imagination to care
for the fields and flocks.

can "drive" tractors and farm trucks to the field.

| Laura's
Cabin offer a rack with pioneer clothes to try out.

can "cook" with a cast-iron stove and to learn about life in a
little house on the Kansas prairie.

the Discovery Place is the Cowboy Corral.

can dress up in boots, hats, and chaps, ride a "horse,"
gather round the "campfire," and "ride" a
train.
