Veryl SwitzerVeryl Switzer, born in 1932 in Nicodemus, is a former halfback in the National Football League. Switzer began his career playing football at Bogue High School, near Nicodemus. He went on to play for Kansas State University where he was named All-American in 1953. Switzer was drafted by the Green Bay Packers where he played until his retirement in 1955. After serving in the U.S. Air Force and teaching in Chicago, Switzer returned to Kansas in 1969. He has since continued his work with Kansas athletes, holding several positions at KSU, both in the academic and athletic departments. |
