The Kansas Historical Society is proud to produce a magazine that helps Kansas students improve their EXPOSITORY READING SKILLS and at the same time gain a new understanding and appreciation for state history. You can use Kansas Kaleidoscope: Real People. Real Stories for Kids! in your classroom to help students:

  • Learn to read fluently
  • Expand vocabulary
  • Comprehend a variety of text structures
  • Develop the skill of using primary and secondary sources
  • Identify and describe significant people, places, and events in Kansas history
  • The annual subscription for five issues is $8 ($6.50 for 10 or more to the same address). Back issues are available in print and some electronic versions. From Volume 7 forward free Teacher Supplement pages are available online.
