Take a Dome Tour Before it's too Late!
Due to renovation at the Kansas State Capitol, dome tours will be discontinued from January 2010 - June 2012. Autumn is a great time to visit and take in the fall colors of Topeka. Plan a trip to the top of the dome today! |

New Curriculum - Project Archaeology
The Kansas Historical Society is pleased to offer the first of three Project Archeology lessons, Migration of the Pueblo People to El Cuartelejo, a seventh grade unit.
Project Archeology uses inquiry to foster understanding of past and present cultures, improve social studies and science education, and enhance citizenship education to help preserve our archeological legacy. The materials relate to specific Kansas reading, history, science, and writing standards. Browse the material free online. |
Have You Discovered Kansas Memory?
KansasMemory.org is the largest online collection of photographs and documents from Kansas history. Search and collect images using the "My Bookbag" feature. Browse in "Teacher Mode" to see how items relate to Kansas curricular standards. A great companion to The Kansas Journey textbook, with a browse feature that corresponds to chapters from the book. This image of a Wichita grass lodge is a perfect illustration for Native American Heritage Month lessons! |
