Scope and content: Series contains a variety of microfilmed school annual reports, enrollment records, and teacher term records organized by school district number and further organized by date. The records were compiled to monitor enrollment and the financial information of various Kansas school districts. Some records are annual reports completed by the school district clerk and submitted to the county superintendent of public instruction. These provide enrollment information, race statistics, number of school days, total number of days of attendance, average daily attendance, salary statistics for teachers, school property values, number of buildings and rooms, and receipts expenditures for each school. Other census records include records documenting students enrolled along with their birthdays and names of parents or guardians. The teacher’s term reports document enrollment numbers for students taught per term, dates of the term period, teacher names, daily attendance records, and general information on the number of classes taught and the page reached in the corresponding textbook. Also included are notices of alteration in the school district boundaries as districts were consolidating and developing into the modern system.
