Scope and content: A microfilmed volume containing copies of land patents issued to applicants applying to the US General Land Office for land in Morris County. The actions are pursuant the May 20, 1862 act "to secure homestead to actual settlers on the public domain." The patents state the homestead certificate number, application number, name of applicant, that the application was filed with the Land Office in Topeka, a description of the land, and a statement granting the patent to the applicant. The records are signed by the President of the United States and the Secretary. The volume is not indexed. The patents are organized by date of filing with the Morris County Register of Deeds office.
