Scope and content: Mostly consists of forms from individuals wishing to register their pioneer ancestors with the McPherson County Historical Society. Forms can provide information regarding pioneer's name, individual's relationship to that person, when and where pioneer settled in McPherson County, occupation, birthplace and nationality, age when s/he settled, whether pioneer homesteaded or not and whether that land is still in the family's possession, and whether pioneer was a soldier in the Civil War or not. Not all information always filled in. Other papers and materials in the series include correspondence, copies of records and from books, and other such materials documenting that an ancestor was an early settler.
