Kaw Mission Councils - Council Grove

Blacksmithing will be presented by Fort Larned Park Ranger Pete Betke. This event will be at Council Oak Park, 210 East Main Street, Council Grove, Kansas. Please bring your own lawn chair.

The 2024 Kaw Mission Councils is a series of lectures and events focused on the rich history of Westward Expansion and how it affected Anglos, Hispanics and Native peoples. All programs, unless indicated, will be held on the Santa Fe Trail at The Dealership Building, located at 318 West Main Street, Council Grove, Kansas unless otherwise noted. A $3 suggested donation will be collected. The programs are sponsored by the Kansas Historical Society, Friends of Kaw Heritage, Nystrom, Young, Hylton, Area Foundations, City of Council Grove, Humanities Kansas and Fort Larned National Historic Site.
