Art

Kansas artists were often inspired by the open skies, lush prairies, and vivid sunsets. They sought to depict unfolding events in the state’s history, using a variety of media including pencil, oils, watercolors, and cameras.

The Kansas Historical Society collections span artwork from the earliest times to modern day that illustrate the state’s varied history. In addition see Marijana Grisnik's paintings of Strawberry Hill in our collection.
