Watson Brown

Watson Brown was born on October 7, 1835, in Franklin, Ohio, to John and Mary Ann (Day) Brown. He married Isabella Thompson in 1856.
Brown did not join his father and brothers in the fight in Bleeding Kansas.
He was a participant in his father’s 1859 raid on Harpers Ferry, Virginia (now West Virginia). He was killed on October 19, 1859, during that famous attack. His body was sent to the Winchester Medical College in Virginia. In the early 1880s Brown’s body was identified by his eldest brother, John Brown, Jr. More than 20 years after his death, he was finally buried at his family’s plot in North, Elba New York.
