John Brown Museum - Exhibits
John Brown Museum features exhibits in two rooms of the historic Adair cabin, along with displays outside the cabin, which preserves the historic structure in Osawatomie, Miami County.
In 1912 the Adair cabin was dismantled and relocated to the John Brown Memorial Park, the site of the 1856 Battle of Osawatomie. In 1928 the state of Kansas appropriated $6,000 of a stone pergola to surround the cabin, protecting it from further deterioration.
Explore the Adair log cabin, complete with family furnishings and belongings, including a historic melodeon. Browse objects that tell the story of John Brown and the Battle of Osawatomie as well as a collection of Civil War weapons.
